Bring your own domain

Serve your Gully Core launchpad, DEX or stock market on a domain you own, for example launch.example.com. No transaction, no gas, no files to upload. You add two DNS records and the certificate is issued for you.

Every site also has a free address, yourname.gullycore.xyz. A domain of your own is optional and works next to it.

Before you start

  • A site you own on Gully Core, and the wallet that owns it.
  • A domain whose DNS you can edit. Use a subdomain (launch.example.com, www.example.com). A bare domain (example.com) cannot carry a CNAME at most providers; see "Bare domains" below.
  • If your DNS is on Cloudflare, set both records to DNS only (grey cloud).

Steps

  1. Open your site, go to Admin, and sign in with the owner wallet (you sign a message, nothing is sent on chain).

  2. In Your own domain, type the domain and press Connect.

  3. At your DNS provider, create the two records the card shows:

    TypeNameValue
    CNAMElaunch.example.comsites.gullycore.xyz
TXT_gullycore-challenge.launch.example.comthe token shown on the card

The CNAME points visitors at us. The TXT record proves the domain is yours: without it nothing is served, even if the CNAME is right. Both records can take a few minutes to spread.

  4. Wait. The card checks again every few seconds and moves through four steps: records added, domain verified, certificate, live. The certificate is issued the first time someone opens the address, so open https://launch.example.com once.

  5. When the status says Live, the site is on your domain. Search engines and link previews see your domain as the site's own address.

What the status means

StatusMeaningWhat to do
Waiting for DNSConnected here, records not found yetAdd the TXT and the CNAME, wait a few minutes
Needs attentionThe TXT is right but the name points somewhere elsePoint the CNAME at sites.gullycore.xyz

LiveServed on your domain, with its own certificateNothing

Remove a domain

Press Remove domain on the card. We stop serving it at once and never renew its certificate. Then delete both DNS records: while the TXT carries your site's token, whoever holds the domain has named your site.

Bare domains

Most DNS providers do not allow a CNAME on example.com. Use a subdomain such as www.example.com or launch.example.com, or a provider that offers ALIAS, ANAME or CNAME flattening and point that at sites.gullycore.xyz.

Good to know

  • One domain per site. Connecting another replaces the first.
  • A domain connected to another site is yours only if your TXT record is in place; otherwise you get a conflict message naming the record to add.
  • Names under gullycore.xyz, and names that look like ours, cannot be connected.
  • Certificates are issued only for names we have checked, and each name is rate limited, so a mistyped domain cannot use up our certificate allowance.
  • A site on Gully Chain testnet is marked as such and is not indexed by search engines. A mainnet site on your domain is.
